At Eagley Infant School we believe that computing capability is an essential skill for daily life and enables learners to participate more readily in our rapidly changing world.

The use of information and technology is an integral part of the National Curriculum and our children have opportunities to use different types of technology in class and in KS1 during their weekly computing lesson.

We believe that children are entitled to quality hardware and software and a structured and progressive approach to the learning of the skills needed to enable them to use it effectively. Our aim is to develop children’s understanding and skills in order to develop them as 21st century learners.

Our intention is that Computing also supports children’s creativity and cross curricular learning to engage children and enrich their experiences in school. We want the use of technology to support learning across the entire curriculum and to ensure that our curriculum is accessible to every child

Our aim for the computing curriculum –

Our broad and balanced computing curriculum provides all children with key computing skills needed for everyday life.

Using Purple Mash (which is closely linked to the National Curriculum) we offer opportunities for students to develop their computing skills, such as creating documents and coding.

All children will have the opportunity to use various technology, such as laptops, iPads and programmable toys during their time at Eagley Infant School. 

We will enable all students to access to and develop an enjoyment of computing which will sustain through their lives

To teach pupils to become responsible, respectful and competent users of data, information and communication technology.

Equip pupils with skills, strategies and knowledge that will enable them to reap the benefits of the online world, whilst being able to minimise risk to themselves or others.

Use technology imaginatively and creatively to inspire and engage all pupils.
