Week beginning 9th March
This week we have been learning about plants and flowers. We have explored the parts of plants and we have learnt about how the different parts of a plant help it to grow or attract insects.
We have continued to explore our quail eggs. We are waiting patiently for them to hatch. This week we welcomed some tiny caterpillars into Nursery and we are going to watch them carefully to see how they change as they grow.
Week beginning 2nd March
This week we have continued to learn about how we change as we grow. On Wednesday we welcomed Mrs Fairhurst and Arthur to Nursery and we learnt how to look after and care for babies. We thought about how we have grown, the things we have learnt to do now we are children and about how we will change as we continue to grow and learn. This week we have been very excited about the arrival of our quail eggs. We have placed them in an incubator and we will watch as any changes take place. We are continuing to look after our outdoor area and we have planted some flowers in our new planters.
We have loved celebrating World Book Day this week. We dressed up as our favourite book characters, and enjoyed watching the Key Stage One teachers perform Supertato. We have listened to other Supertato stories and have made our own Supertatoes in class.
Week beginning 24th February
We have a busy start to the new half term. On Monday we learnt about Shrove Tuesday and how people celebrate pancake day in different parts of the world. We made and ate pancakes with some tasty fillings. They were delicious. We have listened to the stories "The Runaway Pancake", "MrWolf's Pancakes" and "Mama Panya's Pancakes". We have begun a topic on growth and we have loved looking after our babies in our baby clinic. We measured our friends finding who is tallest. On Thursday we were excited to see the snow so we had a fun time playing outside. Inside we made sledges in our recycling area. Have a lovely weekend.
