Week beginning 29th March
We have had a very busy and fun week of learning this week. We have learnt about the Easter story and we have listened to lots of Easter stories. We also learnt some Easter songs. We have made cards and bunnies to hold an egg inside. In our outdoor area this week we have been caring for our plants and planting potatoes. We also found a secret message. When it had dried it revealed a secret message that we think was from the Easter Bunny. On Thursday the Easter Bunny visited us and hid an egg for everyone in our outdoor area. It has been a fun end to a fabulous term and we would like to wish all our families and friends a very Happy Easter!
Week beginning 22nd March
This week we have listened to more Fairy Tales. We have enjoyed acting out the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff in our outdoor area and our tuff tray and we also had fun telling the story using tap sticks to make the trip trapping sound as the goats and the thunderer as the Troll. We have also begun to make some Easter crafts which we will bring home next week.
The Mud Monster hasn't visited us this week but we are sure that he will come again soon. Who knows?
Have a lovely weekend.
Week beginning 15th March
This week we have continued our learning about fairy tales and we read the story 'The Three Little Pigs'. We have practised building houses out of straw sticks and bricks and we found out that the bricks were stronger. Outdoors we have enjoyed acting out the story and running away from the Big Bad Wolf.
Outdoors has been very busy at Nursery this week. On Tuesday the children made soup in the mud kitchen and then on Wednesday they discovered that the soup had been eaten. They searched to find who had eaten the soup and they think that it must have been a Mud Monster. The children have made dens and a welcome sign for the Monster and left him some food and they have found mud footprints and fur all around our outdoor area. We have lots of ideas about why he might be visiting us, but we are hoping to discover more next week.
Have a lovely weekend and please let us know if you see any signs of the Mud Monster.
Week beginning 8th March
This week we have enjoyed welcoming everyone back to Nursery. We have had a super week doing lots of fun learning and activities. We have been talking about what makes our Mummy's special and two of our activities were making cards and gifts for our Mummy's. We hope you enjoy sharing them with your children. We have also read the story "The enormous Turnip" and we have been busy planting seeds and potatoes. We are looking forward to watching them grow.
At the beginning of the week we dug up the leeks from the school gardens and we talked about what we could make with them. We decided to make leek and potato soup. We enjoyed tasting our soup and lots of children asked for more because it was so delicious!
Have a lovely Mothering Sunday everyone!
