We raced them across the playground and each time the  plastic scooter with small wheels won!

Individual Learning Meetings will be taking place on the 18th and 19th March 2020.

This week in English we have written a story called 'Chewy's Walk'

We planned a route for Chewy (our school pony) to walk around the school grounds, making it as interesting and exciting as possible.

We decided where she would walk first, next, then, after that and finally.

We thought she might like to walk through the flower beds, inside the tepee, in and out of the drums, under the trees  and around the sandpit.

On Friday, with Mrs Richardson's support, we took Chewy on her special journey around school. She was very well behaved and loved her adventure. As a treat we gave her a carrot.

In Maths we have been extending our understanding of addition using different practical apparatus such as tens and ones and tens frames.

Happy New Year to you all!

This week in English we have been looking at the book 'Rosies Walk'.

We described the journey of Rosie around the farmyard and then compared it to the journey made by the fox.

The fox encountered many dangers on his walk such as falling into a pond and getting chased by bees!

We were able to use lots of time vocabulary to help structure our sentences such as first, next, after that and finally.

Homework challenge -: Write about a journey you take this weekend such as going shopping or visiting a relative.

Well done to the children who completed their five read challenge this week.

In Maths we have been using 'numicon' to make numbers up to 20.
