This week we have been learning to tell the time to the hour and doing different activities that take 1 minute to complete for example, how many times can you write your name in 1 minute?
Outside we have been making the Billy Goats Gruff bridge and acting out the story. We enjoyed working together as a team.
This week we have been busy learning about time. We have been ordering the days of the week and talking about our daily routines. In literacy we listened to the story 'The Three Billy Goats Gruff' and retold the story in our role play area. We have also been practising correct letter formation.
In the afternoons we have continued learning about castles. We talked about the features of a castle and had a go at building one outside. We used crates and cones to make a turret and crates for a drawbridge.
Week beginning 12th January
Wow! You won't believe what happened in Reception this week. On Monday we read the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and on Thursday an enormous letter appeared in this classroom from the Giant. In his letter he said he had left us a surprise and we guessed we might find the surprise near the hen house. When we investigated it was an enormous golden egg. We are going to look after it until we hear from the Giant again.
Happy New Year to all our visitors.
We have all had a lovely Christmas and are looking forward to a busy term ahead at school.
This week we have been thinking about the characters in Peter Pan, writing letters to them and describing them. We have also been practising our sounds and have learnt 5 new tricky words. We now know go, my, so, I, he, me, she, we, the, of, be, no, was, her, all.
In numeracy we have been learning how to count and add 1p and 2p coins. We have been exploring in our new role play cafe and are looking forward to taking orders and writing menu's next week.
