Week Beginning 8th December

What a busy week we have had. This week we have performed our natvity "The Sleepy Shepherd" to our parents and friends. We hope you enjoyed the show. We enjoyed performing it. Our teachers said that we were fantastic and that they are very proud of us!

On Thursday we had a special treat. We watched the pantomime Peter Pan. It was really good but we were a little scared of Captain Hook.

This week we have also been busy making making some things that we will send home next week, but we'll keep that a surprise!

Week begining 1st December

What an exciting week it has been!

Earlier this week we arrived at school to find a tiny house in our outdoor play area. We searched the school grounds for clues and also found some tiny chairs. There was a trail of fairy dust leading to the tiny house so we decided that it must belong to some faries.

It was such a cold day and we were worried that the faries might be hungry and cold so we made them some blankets and left rice crispies and porridge in small pots near to their house.

Some of us wrote letters to the faries and drew pictures for them.

We are hoping that the faries will write back.

Week Ending 21st November 2014

This week in literacy we have been designing and describing monsters. We thought of some really good words such as smelly, scary, huge and spiky and we listened to the sounds to help us write them.

The sounds we have learned this week are x, ng, ch and qu. Can you hear these sounds in any words or find items that have these sounds in them?

In numeracy we have been learning about collecting data and putting it into a pictogram. We asked our friends which fruit they liked the best.

In topic this week we have been learning about the Hindu festival Diwali. We saw how Hindu people decorate their houses with Rangoli patterns, so we made some of our own.

This week in Numeracy we have been learning different ways to add two numbers together. We have also started to write number sentences.

We have been learning about Bonfire Night and how to keep safe. We had lots of fun making Catherine Wheels.
