Week beginning 7th March
This week we have been using the nursery rhymes "Little Boy Blue" and "Ten Green Bottles" to help us with our learning. We explored one more and one less than a number in the water play with our green bottles and we explored different shades and textures of blue to create collage pictures. We have again been thinking about rhyming words and have been drawing pictures of things that rhyme, eg cat and hat. We have also enjoyed segmenting and blending by playing a robot game with our magic bag. Outdoors we have played lots of ring games such as "Here we go round the Mulberry Bush" and "The Farmer's in the den". Perhaps you could play some of these games at home.
Week beginning 29th February
Well what a busy week we have had this week. We have been busy making surprises for our Mummy's and talking about why our Mummy's are special. On Wednesday we celebrated World Maths Day and did lots of mathematical activities. On Thursday we dressed up as our favourite Characters and listened to lots of different stories as part of our celebrations for World Book Day. Perhaps your child could retell some of these stories at home.
Week beginning 22nd February
This week we have been thinking about the Nursery Rhymes "London Bridge" and "Pat-a-cake,
pat-a-cake, Bakers man". We have used junk modelling materials to build bridges and we built large bridges outside using crates and guttering. In the play-dough we made buns and marked them the initial letter of our name and of the people whom we were making them for.
This week we have also been using our new Tinker table. We have learnt how to use hammers, screwdrivers, nails, and screws safely and have explored nuts, bolts, spanners and spirit levels.
We have begun to plant our bulbs in preparation for Tatton Flower Show and we are looking forward to watching them grow.
