This week we have been very busy getting ready for Christmas. We made Christmas cards and decorated party hats ready for party day.
Earlier in the week we had a magical day visiting Turton Tower. We experienced a Victorian Christmas and we played games, made decorations and even saw Father Christmas. We all had an amazing day!
In Numeracy we have been using positional language. We placed objects to the left, the right, underneath and on top. Maybe you could try this at home.
In Literacy we read the story Threadbare and wrote about our Christmas wishes!
We have been working hard practising the songs for our Christmas production. We hope you will be able to join us on the afternoon of Monday 19th December.
This week we have been writing about our favourite toys. We described them and wrote about the adventures we have with them.
In Numeracy we have been weighing using non standard units, for example, marbles. Maybe you could try weighing objects at home.
Week beginning 14th November 2016
This week we have been learning about odd and even numbers. We drew odd and even amounts of balloons for Pudsey the Bear to carry.
In literacy we listened to the story Kitchen Disco. It was a funny story. We added some more fruity characters to the story and wrote about what they got up to when everyone is sleeping at night.
This week we have been looking at ordinal numbers, 1st to 20th. We ordered children in a line and discussed their positions. We also looked at the position of cars on a race track. Can you think of any other times we may use ordinal numbers?
We have been learning about Remembrance Day in our literacy and topic times. We talked about the special things we remember in our lives. We hope you made it to our assembly and enjoyed watching. Thank you!
Week beginning 31st October 2106
This week something strange appeared in the Literacy classroom under our magic wishing tree.
After a lot of discussion we realised it was a robot's bottom; it was No-Bot's bottom from the story No-Bot the Robot with no Bottom!
We enjoyed listening to the story and we had a go at writing different endings for No-Bot.
