Week beginning 30th November
We have had another busy week in Nursery. We had lots of interesting boxes to explore whilst we listened to the Christmas story. Inside them was hay, frankincense, myrrh and other surprises. We then set up a stable as our new role-play area. We also started to make some Christmas decorations to decorate our Christmas trees at home.
Week beginning 23rd November
What a busy week we have had this week. We have been exploring shadows and how to make shadows bigger and smaller. We used the whiteboard to make shadow puppets and moved them towards and away from the light.
Week beginning 16.11.15
This week we have been thinking about night and day. We have talked about what makes the night and what makes the day and about things that happen in the night and day. We learnt that it is important for us to rest and to sleep to keep our bodies healthy.
We have been thinking about what birds eat and have made bird cakes. We put the bird cakes in tubs and hung them from the trees. We will be checking if the birds like them next week.
Week beginning 9.11.15
This week we have been making bonfire pictures. We used fluorescent paint and glitter and we thought about the sounds that fireworks make. We have also been learning the names of shapes and using shapes to make rocket pictures.
On Friday we dressed in our pyjamas to raise money for Children in Need. It was lots of fun and we felt very sleepy by the end of the day!
Week beginning 2nd November
At the beginning of the week we read the story "Owl Babies" as we started our new topic "Where Does The Day Go At Night?". Our role play has changed to an Owl Hide and we have been bird watching and retelling the story of Owl Babies with our owl puppets.
In water play we have been thinking about keeping clean and bathing our babies.
On Tuesday we began our daily "Dough Disco", where we manipulate play dough to music. It's lots of fun and already our fine motor control is improving.
