Autumn 1 Who lives in my house?

Week beginning 17th October.

This week in Nursery we have been talking about what we can see from the window.  We have been noticing the weather, and the changes taking place now that we are in Autumn.  We have collected different sized and coloured leaves.  We have collected sticks and compared their sizes.

After reading the story Leafman, some of us even made leaf kebabs.

We ended our busy term by exploring our outdoors, we met the ducks and the chickens and saw what our school looks like from high up on the banking.  After we all enjoyed a lovely tea party.

After half term, we will be looking at different animals and we will have our own Nursery

vet practice.  If you could possibly send in a photo of your family pet, we can put it in our role play area, once your child has shown and talked about their pet.

Have a lovely half term from all of the Nursery team.

Week beginning 10th October.

This week we have been busy making bread for our Autumn Harvest.  We mixed, measured, kneaded and rolled.  We were very good at following instructions and turn taking.

We took our bread rolls home and got to take some in Nursery.  It was delicious.

Week beginning 3rd October.

This week we were very busy making our houses.  Some of us made them out of blocks, some of us made them out of play doh, and some of us were busy painting and drawing them.

We used our senses to feel different herbs and seeds, and mixed them and sorted them.

We practised rolling out dough with our hands.  This week because it is our Harvest week, we will be making bread and rolling our bread dough, and decorating them with seeds.

Our Magic Moments board is ready.  If your child had any certificates,  special news, or achievements, please share it with us.  We can copy it and put it on our special board.

Next week we will be looking at logos and brands that we might recognise at home and in our surroundings.  Take a look when you are out and about and at home, for any familiar signs and brands that your child may recognise.

Week Beginning 19th September.

This week we have been listening to stories about Paddington Bear.  He wears special clothes for wearing outside, we have been practising putting our outdoor suits on, we are trying really hard.  Some of us can do it without help.

This week in Nursery we have all been settling in.  We have been learning new routines, getting to know our teachers, having fun exploring and making friends.
